It all began in July, 2012 with just one partner - Dr. Than Sein - who responded to a letter sent from Jeff Hardy to President Thein Sein and Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, that offered Care for Peace participation in the development of the National Healthcare System.  Dr. Than Sein came to California, toured several health care facilities with Jeff, and met Linda Tavaszi, Chief Executive Officer of the Marin Community Clinics.

On July 20th at Jeff's home in Novato, Dr. Than Sein, U Hla Kyi, Linda Tavaszi and Jeff agreed that they would set up two foundations - one in Myanmar and one in the USA.  The result: the Myanmar-based People's Health Foundation, and the USA-based Care for Peace nonprofit organization.  Since then the C4P mission has been to do all we can to help Dr. Than Sein's foundation, and to support the efforts of the Myanmar Ministry of Health, the Rakhine Thahaya Association, the Kyauk Phyu Healthcare District, the local villagers wherever we are providing new facilities, equipment and technical advice, and our many in-country philanthropic, business and Rotarian allies.

The rest is history-in-the-making!  Care for Peace celebrated our shared successes with our partners at a Memorandum of Understanding and Memorandum of Collaboration Ceremony in Yangon on November 24, 2014.
